We’re Hiring: Campaign Director
Informed Perspectives (IP) is a national feminist organization working to ensure the voices of women and gender diverse people are equitably reflected in public discourse and decision-making in Canada. We are currently working to advance gender equality in Canadian federal politics through our Balance the Power (BTP) initiative by building momentum toward systemic, legislative change.
We are seeking a highly motivated Campaign Director to lead our next phase of advocacy, coalition-building and public engagement. This role is central to translating research insights into political impact and mobilizing a broad, cross-sectoral base of Canadians in support of systemic change.
This role is ideal for a politically-savvy strategic organizer and skilled communicator who understands how to move people and institutions to action. The successful candidate will be comfortable building coalitions across sectors, advancing policy goals and communicating with a range of audiences in both of Canada’s official languages.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Catalyst and Director of Administration to manage the project plan and milestones and ensure all deliverables are met on time and within scope and budget
COORDINATE LEGISLATIVE STRATEGY & POLICY DEVELOPMENT
- Become familiar with the legal brief mapping out a constitutionally defensible, made-in-Canada approach to gender parity in federal elections
- Collaborate with public affairs consultant to track policy developments, legislative opportunities and political shifts to identify strategic moments for advancing campaign goals
BUILD COALITION & MOBILIZE CHAMPIONS
- Develop and execute a robust advocacy strategy with IP staff and external advisors, ensuring campaign insights and the identified legislative approach are clearly communicated to key audiences
- Arrange and/or lead meetings, briefings, and convenings with key policy makers across party lines — including MPs, civil servants, advisors, and political allies — to inform strategy and advance the campaign
- Identify and engage current and former politicians across party lines for strategic outreach and public-facing campaign endorsements
- Serve as lead relationship manager for BTP’s growing network of organizational partners, coalition partners, funders, and subject matter experts — ensuring clear communication, strong collaboration, and effective coordination
- Expand organizational partnerships across sectors (professional associations, unions, civil society groups, social clubs, etc.), identifying opportunities to deliver Balance the Power presentations to prospective partners, women’s networks, and other potential supporters
LEAD STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS
- Collaborate with IP colleagues to develop and refine strategic, persuasive messaging adapted to multiple delivery vehicles and tailored to reflect the current context, including international instability, economic uncertainty, and the rise of authoritarianism
- Draft or adapt high-quality written materials including briefing notes, talking points, opinion pieces, and social media content
- Help disseminate messages both deliberately and opportunistically through meetings, committee appearances, legacy media, and social media to reinforce the relevance and urgency of gender parity in politics
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Women’s Studies, Communications, Law, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience in federal politics, campaign organizing and/or advocacy; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated track record of planning and executing successful advocacy or organizing campaigns, ideally at a national or multi-regional scale
- Strong understanding of the Canadian political landscape and federal legislative processes
- Experience mobilizing diverse coalitions and building relationships across sectors, including civil society, political offices, and community organizations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and French, with the ability to craft persuasive narratives for a wide range of audiences
- Strong project management skills, including experience managing complex, multi-workstream projects with competing deadlines in a remote environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to lead, inspire, and coordinate distributed teams and volunteers
- Deep commitment to gender equality, women’s political representation, and the advancement of a more equitable Canada
- Experience with digital organizing tools and virtual collaboration platforms is an asset
- Bilingualism (English/French) is required
Only Canadian citizens and permanent residents are eligible.
We strongly encourage candidates from underrepresented groups to apply. Even if you don’t meet all the qualifications, but are interested in the role and believe you would be a strong fit, we welcome your application.

Salary range: $110,000 – $121,000 commensurate with experience, plus health and dental benefits, generous vacation, and a flexible fully-remote work environment.
