Our Story

In September 2018, Hanita Simard attended a workshop led by Informed Perspectives Catalyst, Shari Graydon, about the importance of women speaking up and narrowing the gender gap in public discourse. Inspired by Shari’s message, Hanita and her daughters, Avery and Orla, partnered with Informed Perspectives to create an annual workshop specifically for young women ages 14-24.

Today, Making Waves is building an unstoppable community of young voices shaping Canada’s future.
